Learn how to fill out the User Upload spreadsheet.
Please note: this article is primarily for users with a System Admin role.
The following is a guide to the user upload template. Below you can see an example of what this may look like when it's completed.

Required Fields
Only a few fields are required for each user: Name, Email, Role, and School.
Optional Fields
The rest of the fields are optional! Any information that you decide not to add now can always be added later on.
Guidelines to Follow for Each Field:
- Email: Take special care to make sure that users’ email addresses are inputted correctly; this will be key for logging in and matching information. Be sure to use correct spelling, lowercase letters, and no spaces before or after the email.
- Role: You can choose a role based on the drop-down options provided. Writing in your own option will upload in the system incorrectly, so please use the options that are listed. The roles and associated permissions are as follows:

- Teacher: Only have access to their profile. Cannot access other users.
- Coach: Can see all teachers in the school (unless you choose to create a coaching group to limit their access to only teachers on their primary caseload). Coaches do not see other Coaches or any Admins.
- Assistant Admin: Can see all coaches and teachers in the school. They do not see each other or the School Admin role. Typically assistant principals or deans.
- School Admin: Can see all users in the school. Typically principals.
- Regional Admin: Can see all users at select schools (please indicate which schools the Regional Admin should have access to in the Notes section).
- Sub Admin: Can see all users in the system except for the System Admin and other Sub Admins.
- System Admin: Can see all users in the system.
School: Make sure the name of the school is consistent for each member of that school. For example, "ATS" and "A Training School" may mean the same thing, but they will upload as two different schools. Note: Sub Admin and System Admin do not need to have a school listed, as they will automatically have access to all schools.
Primary Coach Email: Input the email of that user’s primary coach. Note: if you choose to limit any coach's access to only the teachers on their primary coaching load, this field will determine the teachers who will be included in their coaching group.
Grade: You can choose a grade from the drop-down options provided. If a user is involved with more than one grade, please just pick one. Writing down two grades or writing in your own option will upload in the system incorrectly, so please use the options we have provided.
Course: Make sure that the content/subject is consistent from user to user. For example-Physical Education and PE will upload as two different courses. Additionally, each user can only have one course. Writing down more than one will not upload correctly.
User Type: You can use this field to group users into categories. Some examples include job title, years at the network, instructional vs. non-instructional, etc. Note: if you need to group users on multiple dimensions, talk to your CSM about adding User Tags!
Internal ID: Here you can include any internal ID that you may have for employee identification (i.e. an accounting ID). Pro Tip: ID’s help ensure data accuracy from year to year.
Non-Instructional: Use the drop-down options to mark 'Yes' if this is a non-instructional staff member (ie. nurse, front office staff).
Read Only: If there are any network-level/district-level admins (i.e. Sub Admins or System Admins) who are only in Grow to see data, not to record or receive feedback, mark them as Read Only.
Notes: This field is for you and your Customer Success Manager. Feel free to leave a note here regarding any questions, special use cases, or comments, and tag your CSM! Additionally, if you have any Regional Admins, please include here any schools you would like them to have access to. If you have any coaches whose access should be limited to only teachers on their primary caseload (instead of viewing all teachers at their school), note that here as well.
