Learn about what access each permission level gives a user in Grow.
Please note: this article applies to users with all roles.
The access you have in Grow is based on the role that your account is assigned. To begin at a summary level, each user role is able to:
- Enter and manage Touchpoints for her/himself and any user “below”
- Progress monitor her/himself and any user “below” her/himself on the hierarchy.
There are two types of roles in Grow: School Roles and Network Roles.
School Roles
The four School Roles are Teacher, Coach, School Assistant Admin, and School Admin.
- Teacher: Has access to only their account. They can see all of the shared feedback they have received. Depending on the site settings, they may be able to perform self or peer observations. Teachers have access to the Video Hub and Resource Library. Teacher is the only role that does not have access to Grow reports and dashboards.
- Coach: Unless a coaching group is created, coaches have access to all of the teachers in the school. They can give feedback to all teachers as well as see all the information related to every teacher, including Touchpoints given to them by other users. They will not have access to the data other coaches have received. Click here to learn more about how coaching groups work.
Do you have a lead teacher who you would like to have coaching access to a limited amount of other teachers? Let your Customer Success Manager know and they will set up their account accordingly!
- School Assistant Admin: Has access to all teachers and coaches in the school. They can give them feedback as well as see all information, including Touchpoints given to them by other users. At most schools, School Assistant Admins can add/edit users and schools. They will not have access to the data other School Assistant Admins have received.
- School Admin: Has access to all Teachers, Coaches, and School Assistant Admins in the school. They can give them feedback as well as see all their information, including Touchpoints given to them by other users. At most schools, School Admins can add/edit users and schools. They will not have access to the data other School Admins have received.
Network Roles
The three primary Network Roles are Regional Admin, Sub Admin, and System Admin.
- Regional Admin: Can see all users with school roles at the selected schools. They can give feedback to these users as well as see all their information, including Touchpoints given to them by other users. They will not have access to the data other users with network roles have received. They can add/edit users.
- Sub Admin: Can see all users in the system except for the system admin and other sub-admins. They can give feedback to these users as well as see all their information, including Touchpoints given to them by other users. They have access to all of the data on the site and can add/edit users.
- System Admin: Can see all users in the system. They can give feedback to these users as well as see all their information, including Touchpoints given to them by other users. System Admins have the ability to view and edit system settings, as well as add/edit users.
