Learn how to use the Meeting feature to host a Lesson Planning meeting.
Please Note: This article is intended for users from Uncommon Schools.
Process Overview
The Planning Meeting Protocol template consists of two phases: Before and During.
- Before the meeting, the host creates the meeting templates and prepares for the meeting. Then, the host shares the meeting with other participant(s) so that they can also prepare.
- During the meeting, both the host and participant(s) can capture notes as well as see one another's notes.
Before the Meeting
Prep
To begin, open the meeting and add participants. To add a participant simply search for and select their name.

Then, you can add notes/prep. This likely includes breaking down the standard into a Know/Show chart, identifying the most productive struggle, and beginning to plan out expected student responses. Clicking the question mark next to a section will populate additional guidance for that field. Click on any of the bullets to pull them directly into the text box. This content is not visible to participants until the meeting is started.
When ready, click Share w/ participants to send participants a blank copy of their prework/reflection template.

Participant View: Teacher Prep
After you share the meeting with participants, the teacher(s) will have their own blank copy of the prep fields to break down the standard, identify the most productive struggle, and plan out student responses. The teacher can click Send to Meeting Host to let you know they have completed prework.

During the Meeting
Start Meeting
When it’s time for the actual meeting, click Start Meeting.

In Meeting
To view a participant’s notes you can:
Click the button next to each participant's name to see their notes. This updates in real-time as the participant types.

Note: Participants can click Host Version to drop down a copy of your notes, which also update in real-time.
Click the dark blue Compare Notes button to see a pop out of all participant and host responses for that field.
