Learn how to complete the Observation Feedback process at KIPP Texas.
Please Note: This article applies to users from KIPP Texas regions. Additionally, form indicators may vary slightly by region.
In the Classroom (Evidence)
Take Observation Notes
Click Start on the top menu and then click Observe. Choose an observee and then select 20-21 Observation Form: Observation Feedback from the drop-down menu.
The Observation Literal Notes allows you to take continuous, time-stamped notes as you go through the observation.
You can choose to keep these private or share with the teacher using the eye symbols.
Step 0: Name It! Draft your Action Step
Write your action step in the Step 0: Name It - draft your Action Step text box. You will be able to assign this Action Step, as well as add Get Better Faster Tags, directly from this observation once it is finalized. The observee can't see the action step in this stage.
Pro-Tip: Click View As: Coach in the top right corner to toggle to the teacher's view of your observation and verify what information is shared.
Step 1: RTR - Scores & Glows/Grows
Assign scores from your district's evaluative rubric. Click on the grey plus sign to expand the full rubric. You can then click on any bullet to have that information pull into the text box for Notes and Evidence. This can be used to easily pick glows and grows.
In Your Office (Feedback)
Step 2: Feedback
Fill out your script using the See It, Name It, Do It text boxes. You can click the plus sign next to a row to view instructions for that portion of the script.
The bottom right corner gives you several options to save. Clicking Ready to Finalize will show a pop-up where you can choose to send an email notification to your teacher.
In the Meeting
Go to Start > Find Observations and click Open Completed to pull up your form. You can use this view to meet with the teacher while having your script up.
On the finalized form, tag your action step with a Get Better Faster tag, and click Assign Teacher Action Step. Make sure to tag the action step with all three components (action step, phrase and Get Better Faster) to get the best data.
