Learn about the differences between Archive and Make Inactive
Please note: This article applies to all users.
Certain users within Grow have the ability to either archive an account or make it inactive. These functions are performed using the Archive and Make Inactive buttons, located on a user's profile.

When to Use Archive
Archiving a user means that you will not be able to locate their account via the search bar, but their account and associated data are still saved within Grow should you need to restore it. Additionally, their data will not be included in reports, except for the Observation Data Report and Advanced Search.
The Archive function is thus recommended for staff that has left your district or school. Remember, you will still be able to access their data if you wish to.
All archived users can be located by clicking on the Configure Wheel and then clicking on Users. Once on the Users page, click View Archived.

When to Use Make Inactive
The Make Inactive function is useful for teachers on sabbatical, extended leave, or other similar situations in which an account may need to be reactivated at a later date. The purpose of this feature is to prevent Inactive users from being able to log in.
When an account is made inactive, you will still be able to locate their account via the search bar and their data will still be included in any reports.

If you would like to activate an inactive account, navigate to the user's page using the search function. Once on their page, simply click Make Active.
